Music

Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, rejoice Phillippians 4: 4

At Service

Our Sunday worship is enhanced by an enjoyable variety of music, all co-ordinated by our Music Group. Hymns are generally accompanied by our organists (the organ dates from 1886) or pianists but also occasionally by flute playing or gospel style singing. A small orchestra of volunteer musicians plays for Open Door services and encourages new members.

Special Events

The building’s good acoustics appeal to many visiting musicians, lately including Quorum (a local chamber choir who specialise in singing Renaissance and contemporary sacred choral music), John Bell of the Iona Community who led a “Big Sing”, plus a variety of gifted local musicians who play during our community events including Sunday afternoon cream teas in August.

Our Choirs

Our enthusiastic choir performs special pieces (rehearsing in the few weeks beforehand) as well as accompanying the congregation for Christmas, Easter and other festivals and has travelled to Westminster Central Hall and Worcester Cathedral for the biennial Free Church Choirs Festival. New singers are always welcome.
