Dates for your Diary

(this section will be HUGE next week, so be prepared!)

Saturday 26th January Burns Night Social organised by Willen Church 6pm – 9pm at Willen Pavilion MK15 9JP (see over)

YOUTH GROUP

This restarted last Tuesday after the Christmas break and there was a good turnout of the ‘core’ members so this is obviously well established now and should go from strength to strength, thanks to the commitment and sense of fun of all involved.

GAMES AFTERNOON

Anyone wanting to organise another games afternoon should speak to Judy Thorp.  The last one was much enjoyed but it could be that there are suggestions for other activities, being held on a different day, etc.

A questionnaire is being prepared and will be available soon for people to feed back their ideas.  It was intended that it would become a regular event

ST ANDREW’S COFFEE MORNINGS

A great time was had by all at the Marchbanks last Saturday and Carol is looking to get the calendar of monthly coffee mornings back on track for 2019.  These are a great get together and a valuable fundraiser, and as you know, can be hosted by members of the congregation either in their homes or in the church.              Either way, much help is always available for setting up, running the raffle and Queenie’s Stall, and providing lots of lovely cakes and bakes to enjoy with the coffee.  Folk just roll their sleeves up when it comes to it (and also borrow aprons/rubber gloves where appropriate!).

They always run from 10.30am-12 noon and can be on any Saturday of the month to fit in with your own commitments but of course the church diary must be consulted first if being hosted in church. (It’s a good idea to do that anyway to check what else is going on.)

BURNS NIGHT SOCIAL

Willen Church is reviving a village tradition to have a Burns Night social gathering with a chance to sample malt whisky, scotch broth, haggis and a cranachan dessert.  Willen Pavilion is situated adjacent to the car parking area for the Playing Fields which is accessed off Portland Drive.

Suitable for all including families and children, tickets are £10 for an adult, £5 for 10-18 year olds and free for under 10’s which includes a three course supper, wine or soft drinks.

Please contact David Preston (davidgwpreston@gmail.com) or telephone on 01908 604605 or 07538 498 061.
