Lent begins on Wednesday 6th March and there has been a change to the timing of 1st Wednesday communion service, which will now take place at 6pm and include the imposition of ashes for those who wish.

  • Sunday Evening Prayers

There will be a simple evening prayer at 5pm every Sunday during lent – except on Mothering Sunday (31st March) – with different people (ministers and lay) offering short reflections on “besetting sins”.

1st WEDNESDAY OPEN CHURCH

Wednesday 6th March from 10am onwards
There will not be a 10am communion but the usual team will be on hand to greet you and serve refreshments on arrival.

  • Green Gym

As on every 1st Wednesday, David will be pleased to see you for some exercise and help in the churchyard after you’ve had your coffee. Weather permitting volunteers are to continue clearing the second wild-flower area near to the rear gate for spreading of new seeds during mid-March. Tools will be provided, please wear appropriate footwear and gloves. Please note the Green Gym will be run on every 1st Wednesday.

  • ‘Coming to Belief’

At the next seminar we shall explore the idea of ‘revelation’ (progressive, general, and particular), and consider some modern developments in the concept of ‘revelation’.  John Beazley (please see your newsletter from last week for a fuller description.)
